DH & I met with my nurse coordinator Peggy yesterday to go over my IVF calendar. I thought that since I am doing a low-stim cycle that I wouldn't be on SO many meds!!! From now until ET I will be taking a total of 11 different medications! That is a little overwhelming even though I won't be taking all of them at the same time. She thoroughly explained each medication's purpose and how to administer it.As she was explaining the ER and ET she said "Then when you get the positive beta we will set up your ultrasound and see if you have one baby or two"!!! I was thrilled that she was so positive and that I could very well be pregnant next month!! I was overcome with emotion, but (for once) didn't cry.
I need to be on BCP by March 10th if I want to be in the April cycle. My CD 1 was Feb 6th, but I just ovulated on CD 23 so I need to take Provera to speed up AF, so that I can make the BCP cut-off. I have never been on BCP's so it feels weird to be taking them to try and get pregnant. I took my first Provera pill last night and will continue for 5 days, then AF should arrive shortly there after.
Before we left the office I made my appointment for my baseline ultrasound and the CD 9 ultrasound already!! I am excited because this is starting to feel so real!!
I then went to my 1st acupuncture appointment. Christine (acupuncturist) and her husband (chiropractor/acupuncturist) own this clinic. They have also dealt with infertility so in a strange way that is comforting. She took my into a private room, asked lots of questions and then I laid down on the (massage) table. She put a total of 15 needles into my body. I only felt a little sting as she was putting in the needles, but then I didn't feel a thing. She turned off the lights and I was left to relax for 30 minutes. I am going to go once a week throughout my IVF cycle so my body stays relaxed.
I'm now awaiting AF....

praying lots of prayers for you!
Yay! We are almost cycle buddies- I think I will actually be a week or so ahead of you (but then again, I haven't gotten one of these fancy calendars either, so I could be off on my assumptions!!). So glad we can support each other through this!
I have my 1st acupuncture appt this Thursday- and my lady is also named Christine!! WEIRD. :) Here's hoping we stay cool as a cucumber for our little ones to hang on!
That calendar is great. It's nice that they give that to you to keep track of everything.
Best of luck to you! I have everything crossed and I'm sending lots of baby dust your way.
I'm so excited for you! Didn't you love the acupuncture? I thought it was so relaxing!
So exciting!!!
So exciting! I remember the day I got this in my hand. It all felt so real!
My doctor took a one step at a time approach and I never had it laid out for me that far in advance. I wish I did! Good luck!
I hope af shows quickly so you can get started. Wow that is a packed calendar with lots of drugs. I hope it does the trick :)
Good luck and best wishes! I love Christine. I saw her last April and May with our last IVF cycle. She is wonderful and so is her husband. I'm so glad to hear she is pregnant and doing well. If you ever have any questions just let me know as your calendar looks pretty similiar to what I had last year from SIRM. Take care!
Such an exciting, and yet slow-moving time. No worries, the big stuff, stims and ER/ET week will be here soon, I promise. You will do great! Good luck with the provera, I did that before my recent IVF to speed up AF. I hope it doesn't make your CD1 miserable times a million like it did mine!
My fingers are crossed for you!!!!!
I remember staring at my calendar a few times a day, it made me feel like I was doing something lol
I'm also exactly one week ahead of you! I haven't gotten my calendar yet either, but will get it Monday during our "IVF 101 Class." I'm wondering if we are going to the same clinic/different locations. Anyway, best of luck to you...hope to hear good news soon! :)
I am thinking and praying for you. Feel free to contact me with any questions. ottokatherine@yahoo.com
