CD 2

Yes, that's right AF finally came on Sunday. That was my longest cycle ever at 41 days, but again was no big surprise because of the surgery. I'm just glad AF showed without drugs. I thought this was the perfect time for her to show her face until I called the RE's office today and found out they are not open the day after Thanksgiving, which messes with my timing!! So the office will be closed during my cycle days 12-15, which when I have gotten the last 3 IUI's!! I don't understand how an RE's office can be closed 4 days in a row!! The nurse at the RE told me that I wasn't necessarily out for this cycle, but 1st they want me to get a blood test to check FSH & estradiol levels. I will get this test done tomorrow (CD 3) and have the results by Wednesday. After we get the results the RE will make a plan for this cycle. I don't have very high hopes for doing injectables this cycle, but at least we can try on our own. DH is also getting another SA on Wednesday..its been a year since the last one.
I am glad we are doing more testing because that means more answers BUT I am tired of waiting!!!!

what?! that's weird. i know some REs are "open" (on call) 24/7/365... being closed 4 days in a row is NUTS! i'm so sorry.

Oh man that sucks! I can't believe they're closed for four days!!! They should warn people in advance about that. They know what our cycles are - we've been through enough, the least they could do is help us plan ahead...

Sorry I know I'm preaching to the choir.

Anyway,I hope the nurse is right and that you still have a good chance for this cycle.

I've never heard of an office being closed for so long! Four days?! Holy crap. All 3 of the clinics I've ever been to are open 365, or maybe closed on Christmas. What if a patient needed to trigger and ER over Thanksgiving?! That's dumb. My current office takes a 1.5 hour lunch break every day, and leaves by 11:30 one day a week- I thought THAT was lame enough to be a deal breaker until they said there was a "back line" way to get in touch with them if needed during those hours (ie: my Dr's personal cell phone). They've got to have SOMEBODY coming in on those days- a bare bones staff like on weekends or something!
I'm sorry that this stupid procedural issue is cramping your calendar. Waiting is torture in TTC! But... the testing will be a good thing. Hopefully you aren't "necessarily out for this cycle".

Thanks for the thoughtful comment. As much as it sucks that we're both so down, it's nice to know that we're not alone. (I mean aside from the IF part, lol)

I just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you, and I hope your appointment goes well today.

Ugh, I'm sorry about AF, but I'm so glad it came naturally!! That stinks about your RE office being closed- I can't wait to hear what their plan is so you won't be out of opportunity this time!
