Happy August ICLW Week!!!
Welcome to those of you who are stopping by for the first time and hello to my loyal readers.
I'm Jessica. My DH and I have been TTC since May 2008...over 2 YEARS!! We thought our only problem was male factor - low morphology, but we've done 6 IUI's, 1 IVF with ICSI and most recently an FET...all unsuccessful, so we are wondering if there is something else going on!! You can get the long detailed version of our IF journey at the top of my blog.
We have a WTF phone consult about our failed FET with my RE on Tuesday 8-24. We have 2 frosties left, but I have a feeling he will suggest doing another fresh cycle and do PGD...which tests the embryos for abnormalities. We shall see......
I try not to let infertility define me, which is almost impossible but there is more to me than that...
I love to TRAVEL....It's one of the only things that keeps me sane. DH & I have been on 2-3 vacations a year since we met 8 years ago. We are going to the Dominican Republic in less than a month for our anniversary!!
In the Dominican on our Honeymoon
I love PHOTOGRAPHY...its a hobby now but I recently got a new camera and hope to eventually start my own small business. Children are my favorite subjects!!
That's me in a nutshell....thanks for stopping by!

Your trip sounds like so much fun! I too like to take pictures, but I'm horrible at it so I haven't shelled out the money for an expensive camera. And the remodeling - we haven't done huge projects in our house, but as we speak we are doing a little something to spruce it up a bit. I'll post about it soon. Have a great weekend!

Wow! Three trips a year? That is awesome! DH and I love to travel as well, but we tend to keep it at one to two... We would probably go on more if it weren't for IF. And, I wouldn't say I *love* to remodel, but we do a lot of it around here! Best of luck to you!

I wish I was going with you on your vacation....its sounds like so much fun and very relaxing...My sis and my bestie are going on a cruise and I am so jealous of them....I usually travel with them but not this time:) I just love the beach and water so much....Me and my hubs havent been on a real vk for like 2yrs just because we have been so wrapped up in IF tx/miscarriages...so then we would never have any extra time off to take a vacation but Im not complaining because finally all that time is paying off...I hope you are getting along ok:)
Hello, visiting from ICLW. I sometimes feel compelled to leave a note of encouragement for the great IF bloggers, so I hope you don't mind. I looked over your IVF protocol & see that you had absolutely great embryos. When I have patients with a similar history as yours (great embryos, failed transfers) I will first off assume implantation failure. I did not see that your RE has this approach.
My approach to patients with implantation failure is to add the following medications:
1. Aspirin 81 mg per day beginning at the start of the cycle.
2. Heparin 2000 units twice per day beginning at the start of the cycle.
3. Medrol 16 mg daily until transfer then 8 mg from that point until positive pregnancy, then stop.
4. Increase progesterone to 50 mg injection plus Endometrin 100 mg twice per day vaginally. The injections starts on the day of the retrieval and the suppositories start the day after the transfer.
Another possibility is the transfer technique.
You should not despair after two years of trying and such a great first IVF cycle. My wife & I tried for 12 years, doing numerous IUI's they at 38 yo she finally went for IVF...and succeeded. Stay strong!
Good luck with the next FET!
We have a lot in common! I too am a photographer, and a remodeling fanatic and I have a love for the cultures of the world!
Best of luck on your journey!

Happy ICLW to you , too!
I hope you don't mind the link, you may have seen this already, but since you mentioned morphology possibly (not) being an issue for you and your partner i thought I would share: http://infertilityblog.blogspot.com/2010/07/sperm-morphology-new-guidelines.html
Best of luck to you and thanks for visiting my blog!
I also love photography. :) I really want to take a class to learn how to use the manual settings on my (non-SLR) camera so I can decide if I want to upgrade, but I haven't had the time. Maybe this year....
We were "unexplained" for over a year, and with further testing it was discovered that my husband has a chromosomal issue. With our last IVF we did PGD, and it is certainly helpful knowing you are transferring (and freezing) chromosomally normal embryos. It takes out some of the anxiety. :)
My name is Jess. I love to travel and photograph too, and love to work on my home remodel. Yay.
Good luck on your WTF!
Happy ICLW-

Thanks for dropping by my blog, I have been reading your story, and I am so sorry for your BFNs on both your fresh and frozen cycle. I look forward to hearing the comments from your WTF appointment - hope you get some answers.
Your photos are beautiful, too.
I am so anxious to hear what Peter has to say! Oh, but if he says I cannot believe it did not work...I will personally go in there and kick his butt :)
Reading your blog was like reading my own blog. All these cycles and for what - nothing at the end to show for it? we are going through our first FET on Wednesday and whilst I am hopeful I am also realistic that it wont work. I just dont want to feel that pain I felt after the first cyle failed. It is so frustrating. I hope that eventually it happens for both of us. Sooner rather than later!!
Happy ICLW!
I am jealous of your three trips a year. We recently went to St Lucia and it was AMAZING. Your photos are beautiful.

After reading this my first reaction was... look at that boogie nose! :)
Love that you guys still do trips together and keep the spark alive in your marriage! What a great thing to do and continue through it all! :)

just stopping by to catch up and say hi! I'm so sorry about the last cycle. Let us know what the RE's new plan is!
Happy ICLW!
I'm so sorry to hear about your FET. I went to SIRM too. (your IVF calander looked familiar, so I took a closer look. LOL!)
I hope your WTF appointment goes okay. Best wishes on your next step.
I'm going to jump on the boat with everyone else and say that I also love traveling, remodeling, and photography :) I'm sorry for all your past cycles and I hope you get some answers with your upcoming appointment.
Fun! I love to travel too, I can't wait to have some money saved up to use for our vacation funds. And I love photography too! I need a new camera.
